Ed Klein, a stockbroker from Aberdeen, WA, and PGA club professional Ronnie Espedal created the Arm-Lock Converter Grip as an alternative for players who use an anchored putting stroke, which will be banned effective January 1, 2016. Both avid tournament players, Ed and Ronnie designed a grip that allows for a USGA conforming forearm anchor putting method. The Converter Grip replaces a regular grip on a belly, broomstick, or standard putter. The bore in the grip, or shaft channel, is angled so that the shaft can align with your forearm which increases the effective loft by 2 - 3 degrees, negating the de-lofting which occurs due to forward shaft lean when the putter grip rests against the forearm. The Arm-Lock Golf Converter Grip will turn any putter into a forearm-anchored putter. In the forearm anchored putting method it is currently necessary to significantly increase the loft of the putter in order to compensate for the de-lofting that occurs due to the "forward press" or "forward lean" created when the grip rests against the forearm. Without increased putter loft the ball is driven into the putting surface severely affecting the roll and intended line. Current putters on the market adopted for this method are built with a loft of seven degrees in order to impart a proper roll. The main drawback to these putters is that they still put the player in an awkward position with a more than appropriate or comfortable forward press at address.

Our patented and USGA conforming Arm-Lock Converter putter grip alleviates the forward press resulting in an improved address position while increasing the effective loft of the putter by 2-3 degrees. Our patent pending, angled shaft channel in the Converter grip attains this.

Our Arm-Lock Converter Grip enables the golfer to modify his current putter, whether it is a "broomstick / long”, "belly" putter or "standard" putter by simply installing our grip. No further modifications to the putter loft are required. Trimming (for broom and belly models) or extending (for standard length models) the putter length to roughly one inch below the forearm elbow crease is the only other modification required to the existing putter.
